Cristina Londoño

Cristina Londoño is a journalist, artist, and author who has spent more than three decades telling the stories that shape our world — and, more recently, the ones that shape us from the inside out.

She grew up in Colombia, deeply connected to her grandparents and to the land. Much of her childhood was spent on her grandfather’s coffee farm, where days were filled with nature, animals, and freedom — climbing trees and mountains, helping care for cows and pigs, and learning, early on, to observe, listen, and feel at home in the natural world. Those formative years nurtured a lifelong love of movement, resilience, and emotional intuition.

As a senior Washington, D.C. correspondent for Telemundo, Cristina has reported from the frontlines of history. Her career spans some of the most defining moments of our time, including the September 11 attacks, major natural disasters, mass shootings, the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration crises on both sides of the border, and years of political coverage from the White House, Capitol Hill, and the Supreme Court. Her work has earned multiple Emmy Awards and the trust of audiences who turn to her for clarity, depth, and humanity.

That heart evolved.

Over the years, it grew eyes, arms, legs, lashes, lips, and attitude — transforming into a fully formed character now known as HEART by Cristina. Flirty, fierce, vulnerable, and self-aware, the HEART became a mirror of lived experience: love and loss, fear and courage, breakdown and reinvention. Each illustration captures a moment, a feeling, or a truth — often with humor, always with honesty.

Movement has always been part of Cristina’s emotional vocabulary. While she was active in sports throughout her school years, it wasn’t until the age of 46 that she discovered running as a true passion. Since then, she has completed more than sixteen half marathons and three full marathons. Running remains both discipline and therapy — a place where thoughts settle, clarity emerges, and the heart finds its rhythm again.

Cristina has created more than 150 HEART illustrations, many of which form the foundation of her illustrated memoir, which is currently in the process of being drafted.

But behind the headlines, another story was unfolding.

To process the emotional weight of a life spent witnessing trauma, resilience, and change — both professionally and personally — Cristina turned to art. What began as a private act of survival became a visual language: a bold, unapologetic heart that could express what words sometimes could not.

Today, Cristina’s work lives at the intersection of storytelling and art. Through her illustrations, writing, and creative projects, she invites others — especially women — to honor their emotions, trust their inner voice, and remember that they are not alone in the process of becoming.

She lives and works in Washington, D.C., alongside her husband of 18 years and their dogs — her daily co-conspirators, inspirators, and unwavering support system in life, creativity, and love.

HEART by Cristina is more than a character.
It is a conversation.
A reminder.
A declaration.

If this project resonated with you, this is a space to connect.

It is also open to collaborations, media inquiries, and conversations that begin from the heart.
